L'UNITÉ

At first, there was separation.

Citrus opened the air —
bergamot bright, deliberate,
light entering the room.

Then structure appeared.

Iris and vetiver aligned, cool and composed,
like lines drawn in quiet agreement.

Nothing rushed.
Nothing forced.

Patchouli rose from the ground,
cedarwood holding the frame,
amber warming the space between.

Opposites began to soften.

Edges dissolved.
Movement became rhythm.

A slow crescendo of elements finding their place —
earth and light, wood and air,
drawn together into something whole.

And it was called L’Unité.
